New Thought Books and The New Thought Movement

Free New Thought Books for self-help and self-improvement by New Age New Thought Writers!

The New Thought Movement started in the USA in the mid to late 1800's and is a term that refers to group of writers, philosophers, organisations and others who shared a set of beliefs about personal power through thought and the ability of the mind to heal.

The first person to be identified with the New Thought movement was Phineas Parkhurst Quimby (1802-1860), an American faith healer. Quimby believed that sickness originated in the mind.

The movement is not associated with any particular religion, but developed along side many churches of the time.

New Thought Books

Many New Thought books of the New Thought movement were published in the early 1900's. One of the first writers to establish the Law of Attraction in the New Thought world was William Walker Atkinson in his book "Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World". Elizabeth Town produced a magazine called "The Nautilus Magazine, a Journal of New Thought" and later she went on to publish the work of Bruce MacLelland "Prosperity Through Thought Force" another work that cemented the Law of Attraction as a New Thought principle.
